Nathan Smith, BTSALP Visual Art Specialist at Truman Elementary School in Granite School District, makes sure to not only display the work of his students but to explain to parents and art show visitors the content integration that informs the art projects. First grade students examined their roles and the important roles of other people and places in their communities. BTSALP Visual Artist, Alisa Webb, from North Ogden Elementary School (Weber State Region) recently hosted an art night during parent-teacher conferences. Every student had more than one piece of art hanging throughout the school. Students and parents were able to see these amazing works of art all around their school. Alisa was facilitating grade level art installations that will be permanently hung at North Ogden Elementary School. Cache County Glass Project Sixth grade classes (90 students) at Canyon Elementary worked with glass artist, Carrie Trenholm and created fused glass panels inspired by ancient cultures. Students learned about West African Adrinka textile designs & symbols, Egyptian hieroglyphics, and symbols/imagery relating to cuneiform tablets. Carrie was in the schools Monday through Thursday with an Art Show on Friday (November 27 – December 1).
